Members of the nonprofit rehabilitate injured birds found in and around Estes Park and research birds in and around RMNP, Estes Park, and the front range of Colorado. Scott has written and published several books on owls and other birds, and he has been painting, illustrating and writing about birds for over 30 years. He is one of a small handful of individuals in Colorado licensed to trap and band hummingbirds. Scott has banded thousands of hummingbirds throughout his career. Scott's work with great horned owls began in the early 1980's after he saw his first great horned owl in the wild. He has located numerous great horned owl nests both in Wisconsin and Colorado, and has banded both juvenile and adult birds and rehabilitated injured ones.
