Come for a morning of good work with good friends! This is a free event. No experience necessary - we’ll teach you the ways of the garden. We welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels. The farmers will welcome, prepare, and guide you through your experience. Just come ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, as we joyfully tend to the land together.

Join us for a fun evening learning about this incredible bird of prey from owl expert Scott Rashid.
Learn about the natural history of the Great Horned Owl, including nesting habits, food preferences, courtship activities, vocalizations, egg-laying, incubation timing, feeding habits, as well as fledging and post-fledging activities. Scott will also share how he rehabilitates injured owls.

In 2014, Scott Rashid created the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute, or CARRI, in Estes Park. Members of the nonprofit rehabilitate injured birds found in and around Estes Park and research birds in and around RMNP, Estes Park and the Front Range of Colorado.
Scott has written several books: Small Mountain Owls, Northern Saw-Whet, The Great Horned Owl (An In-depth Study),Northern Goshawk (The Gray Ghost), and Exploring the World of the Barn Owl. He's also an amazing watercolor artist!

Step into slowing down, allow inner awareness to magnify, and invite your body into a dance with the Wild. Inside the magic of Dharma’s Garden, we will tune into mystery, expression, and the more-than-human world and see what kind of dance emerges from this connection.This workshop blends free-form movement, journaling/drawing, deep sensory awareness, and solo and group activities. Let your breath in, soften your skin, grow roots as you step, and dance. Bring a nourishing lunch and enjoy a picnic on the farm after the workshop.
No dance or writing experience needed.

Maren Waldman
Maren Waldman is a Longmont-based artist and educator who works at the intersection of art, community and nature. She is the founding director of The Dance Grove, a collection of movement offerings for adults that cultivates connection and community, and in 2024, she launched Colorado Water Stories, a project that leverages performing and visual arts to examine our relationship with water. She also co-directs and produces the annual Longmont Water Fair, now in its third year, as well as the Boulder County performance for the bi-annual international Global Water dances event, at which she serves on the steering committee. Through her work, Maren seeks a future where care for the body and stewardship of the Earth weave together to generate healing change.

What is a weed? Why is it growing in my garden? And what can I do about it? In this two hour hands-on class, we’ll get to know the weeds of Dharma’s Garden as individuals contributing to a shared ecology. We’ll consider weeds not as pests to exterminate, but rather as useful plants that can improve the health of your garden and your body.

1. BRING your OWN SEEDS to the Stone Circle on FRIDAY
(Friday, March 20th, is the SPRING EQUINOX)
DETAILS:
Bring your seeds to the Stone Circle any time between 7am and 7pm on Friday, March 20th, 2026.
Label your seeds with your name and phone number (we will have plastic bags and markers available).
Place your seeds in the box in the center of the Stone Circle and leave them there overnight.
We will bless your seeds around sunrise on Saturday.
Come pick up your seeds any time on Saturday, March 21st, after 8:30am!

2. JOIN US for a BLESSING OF THE SEEDS

DETAILS:
Arrive at the Stone Circle at 7:30am on Saturday, March 21st, 2026.
Together we will sing, offer gratitude, and set intentions for the coming season.
We will offer our blessing to the seeds — for their sprouting, growing, and abundant harvest.
This will be a fairly brief ritual — we will finish around 8:00am.
No RSVP necessary, just come! Supervised children welcome.
We will provide hot herbal tea. If you feel inspired to bring a breakfast treat to share with others, please do!

Lantern Walk 2025
As the days grow shorter and we enter into the darkest time of the year, each of us has the opportunity to kindle warmth and light in our hearts.
The Lantern Walk is a celebration of the light within each of us that we can bring out to meet the growing darkness.
Together we will walk through the darkness carrying our lanterns and singing our lantern songs!
Connecting With The Seasons: OCTOBER CLASS
These classes (come to just one or many!) at Dharma’s Garden will focus on a different aspect of ecology each month through the lens of land stewardship and connection to seasonality. Each class seeks to empower community members with knowledge about the processes of earth, focusing on interconnected relationships between animals / plants / soil / humans, and how individual pieces work together in resilience. Consider this a class on the basics of ecology with nature as our classroom, exploring the land to teach us the cycle of birth, growth, and death through the seasons. Each class will consist of a brief lesson, a group walk around the land with discussion, and an activity to get our hands and bodies moving with the earth.

The Living Soil
This class explores the foundations of healthy soil—its chemistry, structure, and biology—and how these elements work together to support thriving plants. We’ll look at the dynamic relationship between soil and plant health, where each strengthens and sustains the other, and uncover practical ways to build resilient landscapes from the ground up.

How a Sheep becomes a sweater
Spend the day learning about the world of wool. We will discuss different fibers used in textiles and where they come from, but our focus for the day is on sheep, history of sheep and fleece-wool. Explore different properties of different sheep breeds and their uses. Learn how wool is sheared, skirted, washed, carded and spun, to be transformed into the usable yarns that make our blankets, clothing and other textiles that surround us every day. Dig your hands into fleece from Dharma’s Garden’s own flock of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep. See this wool transformed as it is washed, carded and spun by the instructor. Try your hand at parts of the process including picking, carding and spinning. In the afternoon you will use some of Dharma’s own flock’s wool to wet felt your own small treasure pouch to take home.
AUTUMN EQUINOX CELEBRATION in the Stone Circle with Patrick MacManaway
This year, we are fortunate that our Autumn Equinox ceremony in the Stone Circle will be led by Patrick MacManaway. As the sun balances day and night in perfect harmony, we gather to honor the changing seasons and the turning of the Wheel of the Year. Patrick guides us in ceremony, connecting us to the land, the stones, and the shifting energies of the equinox through spoken word, song, and shared intention. It's a moment of reflection, gratitude, renewal, and celebration—welcoming the inward journey of autumn with reverence and community spirit. Stay for the community potluck and bonfire at sunset.

Movie Screening- RADICAL LOVE: The Life and Legacy of Satish Kumar

Best known for his 8,000-mile walk for peace, former monk, activist, author and educator Satish Kumar has been inspiring global change for nearly 70 years. Between his home in the south of England and an experience of returning to India, the film portrays his impressive journey.”
Foundations of Willow Basketry (LEVEL 2)
This course is designed to follow the Foundations of Willow Basketry class. Students will get to practice their new skills while creating a bigger, more intricate basket. Students will also learn to add integral handles to their medium sized baskets, so they are easier to carry. These baskets can be used as laundry baskets, harvest baskets, toy baskets… so many options. New patterns will be introduced and students will gain more experience in shaping their dream basket.
Rewilding Our Imagination: Permaculture, Play, and Possibility
In this engaging half-day workshop, participants will be introduced to the foundational principles of permaculture and ecological thinking—a design framework that aligns human systems with natural patterns to create sustainable landscapes and communities. Through storytelling, real-world project examples, and small group discussion, and even a little play, you'll learn how to begin integrating these regenerative practices into your own life, garden, or business.
iNTRO tO BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATION: Drawing Flowers
In this two-hour class we will explore the fundamentals and process of botanical illustration, learning to zoom our eyes in to the small details of the flora around us. We will investigate flower anatomy, and participants will choose their own specimen to dissect and draw. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of plant anatomy, pollination, and how to represent the details of the world around them with a pen and paper. There are no prerequisites for this class; artists of all levels are welcome.
